Job Title: Purchasing Intern
Location: Main – Building 7A - offices
JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Summary:
The Purchasing Intern is responsible for supporting the Purchasing team by assisting with purchase orders (PO), data entry, supplier communications, and problem resolution. They will shadow members of the purchasing department to gain work experience while attending schooling. They will adhere to all Bandit safety, quality, inventory and production guidelines, standards, policies, and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor and follow up on unacknowledged and overdue purchase orders (PO).
- Process PO’s for Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) for confirmations and deliveries.
- Enter approved pricing updates, including but not limited to standard cost adjustments and contract pricing updates.
- Create steel parts in the ERP System.
- Assist the Procurement and Accounting Team to ensure invoice issues are resolved.
- Communicate with suppliers and Bandit warehouse locations to gather correct information.
- Process Return Goods Authorizations (RGAs) according to established procedures.
- Help with Data entry for the SAP S4/HANA whenever needed.
- Work on Freshdesk Ticketing as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Working towards Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or related fields.
- Proficient verbal and written skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong computer skills including use of Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently sit for extended periods of time
- Occasionally stand, walk, push, pull, stoop, pinch, grasp, and/or bend
- Requires employee to occasionally work both inside/outside in heat/cold, and/or wet/humid conditions.
- Occasionally required to use personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent injury.
- Occasionally lift 30 pounds
