Summary of Duties:
This position coordinates senior volunteer service delivery for the Foster Grandparent and Senior Companion Programs, as assigned. Provides training and field support for senior volunteers and volunteer stations, including marketing and program development. Recruits volunteers, determines eligibility for enrollment, prepares forms for processing, and maintains volunteer information in electronic format utilizing Microsoft Office applications. Develops community resources for senior volunteer opportunities, conducts site visits, maintains program enrollment at required levels, and monitors volunteer activities to ensure program compliance.
- Recruit and maintain sufficient number of program participants to meet funding requirements;
- Review applications, determine program eligibility, and prepare enrollment forms for processing;
- Arrange volunteer assignments in cooperation with volunteer station staff;
- Coordinate volunteer assignments in cooperation with volunteer station staff;
- Provide field support and staff assistance for volunteers and volunteer stations;
- Monitor volunteer activities for effectiveness to ensure program compliance;
- Perform regularly scheduled site visits with written documentation;
- Prepare volunteer timesheets, in-kind vouchers, and other required forms for processing;
- Maintain volunteer files including hours/mileage logs, service schedules, and other required documents;
- Assist with generating and distributing Volunteer Programs newsletters;
- Assist with Advisory Group meetings, in-services, recognition events, and other activities;
- Establish community partnerships with Memorandums of Understanding;
- Develop working relationships with other community-based human services agencies, non-profit and faith-based organizations, the media, and senior volunteer associations in the service area;
- Develop working relationships with other NEMCSA divisions and provide referrals for senior services;
- Attend trainings, program-related workshops and conferences on seniors and volunteerism, as assigned;
- Participate in promotional activities, senior health fairs, fundraisers and other special events, as assigned;
- Report program progress, changes and/or challenges to FG/SC Project Director on a regular basis.

Requirements
Education and Experience:
Associates Degree or equivalent credits in Human Services related field required. Bachelors Degree preferred. Two years experience working with the senior population preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products, working with the economically disadvantaged population, as well as good communication skills and the ability to establish on-going relationships with co-workers, the community, and participants is required.
