This full-time support staff role works year-round Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday with flexible or extended hours as needed by the Center.
Position Summary
Reporting directly to the Grahl Center Director, the Center Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring smooth daily operations and delivering exceptional support to administrators, faculty, staff, and students. This dynamic position combines front-line reception duties with behind-the-scenes administrative coordination, document preparation, and responsive communication. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a student-centered environment, enjoys multitasking, and values being part of a collaborative campus team.
This role is assigned to Kellogg Community College's Grahl Center at the Coldwater campus. Physical Demands
The job responsibilities are performed in an office area and presentation venues. Travel by car required. The job has intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as independent mobility between work areas, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward (8 - 45 pounds). Typically requires regular use of one or more physical senses of medium intensity and long duration. Must meet reasonable deadlines, quotas or demands for accuracy, and may be involved in some mildly unpleasant situations.
Minimum Qualifications
• Some post-secondary education from an accredited college or university AND at least one (1+) year of relevant experience OR two or more (2+) years of relevant experience. At the time of application, attach unofficial transcripts showing successfully completed coursework, if applicable.
• Ability to work with MS Office, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook or similar level applications at an intermediate level.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to arrange meetings and coordinate facility events.
Preferred but not Required
• Associate degree from an accredited college or university.
• Knowledge of procedures to open, close, secure and maintain Regional Center, and operate Student ID Machine.
Proposed Salary
According to the published support staff salary schedule, Classification Pay Grade 12, 2025-2026 starting hourly wage range, step one $19.45 to step five $24.06. Internal applicants may refer to Article 22, Section 5B.

Job Duties
Essential Function: Center Administrative Support
Description:
• Act as contact person for center business in absence of Director.
• Provide assistance, administrative support, and institutional information based on inquiry to department management, faculty, staff, students, and community.
• Serve as liaison between college and external service providers (e.g., vendors, suppliers, etc.).
Essential Function: Problem Resolution
Description:
• Answer technical and non-technical questions, analyze problems and resolve.
Essential Function: Assist Students with ACE Process
Description:
• Assist students with the Apply*Connect*Enroll (ACE) process, including:
• Address verification,
• Financial aid assistance,
• Submitting transcripts,
• Placement testing and assessment,
• Academic advising connections,
• Completing Learning Technology Readiness, and
• Registration and payments.
Essential Function: Financial
Description:
• Accept cash and credit payments for college services.
• Enter financial transactions into college system, reconcile cash drawers, and instruct students in understanding and registering for the Nelnet payment plan.
Essential Function: Testing Registration and Proctoring
Description:
• Register students for standardized tests and serve as proctor for test sessions.
• Maintain test records and preparation procedures.
Essential Function: Department Support
Description:
• Assist faculty with correspondence, course materials, and requested media equipment.
