Job Title: Emissions Laboratory Technician
Location: Allen Park, MI
Pay Rate: $29-$34/hr
Overview:
The Allen Park Emission Laboratory is seeking a skilled technician with hands-on experience in analytical and sampling system repair. This role is responsible for preventative maintenance, quality control, unscheduled repairs, and overall support of emissions systems within the laboratory. The ideal candidate will have experience with dynamometer/chassis testing, emissions equipment, and laboratory systems repair.
Key Responsibilities

Perform test site maintenance and preventative maintenance on emissions systems.

Troubleshoot, repair, and perform unscheduled maintenance on analytical and sampling systems.

Maintain daily site status logs and ensure accurate documentation of activities.

Manage inventory of consumables and spare parts to support uninterrupted operations.

Collaborate with vendors and provide support when external service is required.

Support a three-shift operation and assist powertrain emissions development, U.S. certification, homologation, and vehicle engineering problem resolution.

Contribute to the development of new test equipment and methodologies to meet evolving emissions and fuel economy requirements.

Cross-train and provide support across multiple laboratories as needed.

Complete additional assignments as required to achieve corporate objectives.
Basic Requirements
Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of analytical and sampling systems.

Familiarity with dynamometer/chassis testing.

Basic knowledge of chemistry and emissions testing processes (including diesel testing).

Experience with powertrain systems.

Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with proven ability to resolve system issues.
