POSITION SUMMARY
The Mortgage Servicing Specialist is responsible for providing the daily mortgage services developed by Xtend and our credit union partners. This involves processing daily participant and escrow payments, handling credit union mail, and more.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Deliver daily mortgage services to credit unions in accordance with run sheets, policies, and procedures.
2. Open, sort, and post credit union mail containing payments and deposits received from members.
3. Process member payments on sold loans and ensure accurate reporting and remittance of activity to investors.
4. Handle escrow disbursements for insurance, taxes, private mortgage insurance (PMI), and other obligations on member accounts.
5. Perform end-of-month services for credit unions, including participation processing and monthly balancing.
6. Complete additional balancing projects with prior approval from management.
7. Maintain clear and professional communication with credit union contacts to support ongoing service needs.
8. Perform additional duties as assigned to support organizational goals and evolving business needs.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
1. High School graduate, GED, or equivalent work experience. Equivalent work experience equal to 1-2 years of prior office experience with a focus in business administration, Accounting or finance.
2. Two-year degree in a business-related field is preferred.
3. 1 year of experience in mortgage services is preferred.
4. CU*BASE experience is preferred.
5. Take ownership of personal and professional development by actively expanding knowledge of credit union operations, industry trends, and job-specific responsibilities.
6. Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a demonstrated ability to compete tasks with minimal oversight.
7. Well-organized with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects in a deadline-focused setting while working independently.
8. Able to make sound decisions, using good judgment when handling challenges.
9. Clear and professional in both written and verbal communication.
10. Handles sensitive information with professionalism and respect for confidentiality.
11. Alignment with and commitment to the organization's mission, vision, and cooperative values.
12. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
13. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
14. Ability to operate telephone, photocopier, fax machines and PC workstation.
15. Regular and predictable attendance.
16. Ability to maintain and present a positive and professional attitude.
17. Capable of analyzing problems and approaching solutions with a logical mindset.
18. Communicate effectively with a variety of audiences in both individual and group settings, including informal presentations, phone conversations, virtual meetings, and in-person interactions.
19. Able to build and maintain strong working relationships across teams and with partners.

Xtend operates in a professional office building setting. Some job assignments at Xtend are primarily conducted within the office building while others have moderate to extensive travel responsibilities as described in the Job Functions and/or Job Qualifications section(s) above.
