Summary & Qualifications:
The Ramp Supervisor is responsible for the safe and efficient coordination of all ground handling operations on the NMC Aviation ramp. This includes leading a team of line crew, ensuring timely fueling, and managing aircraft cleaning and servicing schedules. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of ramp operations, strong leadership skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, outdoor environment. The supervisor will also act as a key liaison between flight operations and maintenance while ensuring the proper maintenance and operation of the fuel bowser and floor zamboni.
Minimum Qualifications
• A high school diploma or equivalent, with some additional certification/training.
• 2+ years of experience in ramp operations, ground handling, or a related aviation field.
• The ability to work in a physically demanding, outdoor environment. This includes being able to lift up to 70 pounds on a regular basis, and working in various weather conditions.
• A valid driver's license with a good driving record. The candidate must also be able to obtain and maintain an airport security badge, which requires passing a background check.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including nights and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
• An Associate's degree in aviation management, business, or a related field.
• A deep understanding of ground support equipment (GSE), including fuel bowsers and zambonis.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to multitask and make effective decisions under pressure.
• Familiarity with FAA and TSA regulations.
• Proficiency with relevant computer systems and software used for scheduling, reporting, and communication.
• Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
Essential Responsibilities
• (Critical) Train, supervise, and lead a team of line crew and ramp agents.
• (Critical) Delegate daily work assignments and manage shift schedules.
• (Important) Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing guidance and feedback to team members.
• (Critical) Oversee all ground handling operations to ensure safe, secure, and on-time aircraft turnarounds.
• (Very Important) Act as the primary liaison between flight operations and maintenance.
• (Critical) Ensure the timely fueling operations of all aircraft in the fleet.
• (Very Important) Operate and perform routine maintenance on ground support equipment, including fuel bowsers and floor Zambonis.
• (Important) Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the appropriate department.
• (Very Important) Manage and coordinate the aircraft cleaning and servicing schedule.
• (Important) Ensure all servicing tasks, such as cleaning and restocking, are completed efficiently and to company standards.
• (Critical) Enforce strict adherence to all company, FAA, and TSA safety regulations and policies.
• (Important) Conduct regular inspections of the ramp and equipment to identify and mitigate hazards.
• (Important) Lead safety briefings and ensure all team members are trained in proper safety procedures.
