Psychologist - Community Support Services
Pay Range: $83,352.52 - $105,056.79 annually
$6,000 Recruitment Bonus for Clinical Master level new hires!! ($2,000 paid at start, $2,000 paid after 3 months, and $2,000 paid after successful probation period.)
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Under general supervision of Mental Health Supervisor (State Facility and Forensic Intensive Case Management), evaluates consumers using the DSM-IV-TR and serves as the agency/program psychology consultant with specialized skills in the application of behavioral, sociological and psychological concepts in the planning of the delivery of mental health services. Provides guidance in terms of consumer’s resource development and recommendations for community organization of professional and natural supports of consumers implementing the recovery model, performs psychological assessments and clinical evaluations of consumers related to behavioral plans, voluntary/involuntary hospital admissions consultations; provides NGRI status evaluations to determine the adequacy of existing treatment and community management plans; and does other related work. This position will be knowledgeable about and actively support culturally competent recovery based practices; person centered planning as a shared decision making process with the individual, who defines his/her life goals and is assisted in developing a unique path toward those goals; and a trauma informed culture of safety to aid consumer in the recovery process.
Working Conditions/Environment:
Works in office environment with pressures of dealing with time constraints. Frequently drives automobile in all kinds of weather conditions. May counsel individuals who maybe become potentially violent. Psychologist may be expected to evaluate consumers in a variety of settings.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
|
Master’s degree in a mental health related field from an accredited school.

Experience:
|
A minimum of three (2) years experience in the human services field is expected. Professional clinical experience in working with mental health populations, particularly with developmental disabilities or severe mental illness, is preferred.
At least three years of full-time postdoctoral, post-internship experience in the practice of psychology involving either training, research, consultation, or program planning in the mental health services.

Licenses and Credentials:

Must also have a valid Michigan Driver’s license with a good driving record.
A licensed psychologist (LP).
