Job Summary:
Hamilton Community Schools is excited to invite enthusiastic individuals to apply for the Hawkeye Kids Preschool Support Staff position at Sandyview Learning Center. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting our young learners and stepping in as a substitute when needed, contributing to the smooth operation of our preschool.
Location: Sandyview Learning Center
Work Schedule: Monday-Thursday 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM
Hourly Rate: $15.33/hr.
Start Date: 2025-2026 School Year
Hours: 24 hours per week (additional hours as needed for professional development and meetings)
Reports To:
- Preschool Lead Teacher
- Preschool and Before & After School Coordinator
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Lead Teacher and Associate Teacher to implement lesson plans.
- Supervise and support students in the classroom, promoting a positive and engaging learning environment.
- Develop strong, positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Assist with small group learning activities, large group learning experiences, and provide classroom support.
- Offer individualized support to students who may need extra attention.
- Assist with preschool lunchtime duties and ensure a smooth, safe, and enjoyable mealtime.
- Serve as a roving substitute within the preschool program, stepping into classrooms as needed to provide seamless coverage.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Lead Teacher or Preschool Coordinator.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- First Aid/CPR certification required upon hire.
- Strong communication skills with a positive and professional attitude.
- Experience working with children is preferred.
- Caring, patient, and flexible demeanor with the ability to work effectively in different classroom settings.
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Must maintain regular, reliable attendance and have a flexible schedule to accommodate substitute needs.
- Willing to undergo background check, and complete onboarding training requirements.
