Summary
The Recovery Specialist focuses on reimbursement and subrogation claims in the healthcare industry. The Specialist successfully assists with recovering the maximum amount possible for each case by identifying all potential recovery sources and communicating with all parties. The Specialist works as part of a team, but must also be able to work independently and assist with diverse projects.
What a FRG Recovery Specialist will do:
- Review newly created cases and create additional cases when necessary.
- Analyze correspondence from insurance companies, attorney offices and any other source.
- Review and analyze third party medical authorizations for HIPAA compliance.
- Review and analyze medical billings and determine if treatment is related to the incident.
- Document the case with all pertinent information in a clear and concise manner.
- Identify all potential recovery sources that may be responsible for reimbursement of medical bills.
- Contact recovery sources to obtain detailed information regarding available insurance coverage.
- Send demand notices to all identified recovery sources.
- Contact attorney offices to confirm representation, incident details, injury details, insurance sources, and litigation status.
- Send demand notices to attorney offices.
- Meet production requirements and performance metrics.
- Meet or exceed monthly and annual recovery goals.
What a FRG Recovery Specialist will need:
Required
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and anatomy.
- Well organized and detail-oriented.
- Microsoft Office/Windows skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability and desire to learn new skills.
- Experience working with multiple software systems.
- Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal Certificate or a minimum of two (2) years of comparable experience in the insurance industry.
Preferred
Claims administration preferred.
