Description

Oversees SSS grant activities and provides day-to-day coordination of tasks under the program’s Operational Plan. Regularly communicates an informed understanding of program goals and major components and objectives to internal and external stakeholders. Ensures program operates in full compliance with TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) US DOE policies. Develops and maintains accurate project budgets; prepares fiscal, technical, and progress reports for the project constituencies and DOE; serves as a liaison with the SSS Program Office; and attends all required federal department and training meetings/workshops, debriefing Mid personnel regarding content.
Examples of Duties
- Assists the Director in hiring TRIO SSS program staff.
- Manages the project evaluation system to measure outcomes using formats and timelines in the grant evaluation section.
- Assists with program data management. Monitors and enters data in to the SSS tracking software, Blumen.
- Coordinates activities with the Career Coach, Financial Aid, Admissions, Registrar, Grant Director, Student and Academic Support Services, and Academic Deans to ensure a college-wide approach.
- Coordinates recruitment and selection of SSS participants, assists students with the application process, determines student’s eligibility, and coordinates students’ needs assessments.
- Coordinates orientation, welcome and honors’ events, workshops, cultural enrichment, college and university visits, and giveback activities.
- Provides tutoring, academic intervention, and advising/coaching.
- Assists in implementing the grant’s Operational Plan, and ensures the grant operates in full compliance with TRIO SSS Grant and US DOE policies.
- Updates content on the TRIO SSS Grant website, and works with Marketing to publicize TRIO events and accomplishments.
- Attends appropriate SSS-related workshops and conferences.
- Serves on committees as assigned.
- Attends, facilitates and/or leads staff meetings and in-service programs.
- Supports and serves as a role model for our mission, vision, strategic and service initiatives. Adheres to the organization’s policies & procedures and compliance guidelines.
- Per the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act),a federal consumer protection law, your job position entails functions that meet the definition of a Campus Security Authority (CSA). CSAs have a duty to report any crime to the College’s Clery Compliance Officer. This information may be disclosed to them directly, through third-party, or witnessed. As a CSA, you are required to complete annual training which is provided by the College. This training encompasses your role, responsibilities, and reporting obligatio.

Typical Qualifications
Education, Certification, Licensure:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Master’s degree preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in higher education, preferably in a community college setting required.
- Experience coordinating one or more programs in complex settings serving diverse populations; previous experience with TRIO programs preferred.
