Who We Want
We are seeking a Product Development Manager for our Flex Air Division of Miller Industries LLC.
What You Will Be Doing
- Design and develop current product improvement initiatives and manage prototype product design for product cost optimization.
- Implemented new quality systems to understand the viability of the current product.
- Investigate and helped implement manufacturing improvements to improve product cost.
- Managed sub-suppliers to ensure high product quality, and cost expectations.
- Prototype, design, procure and test components for custom air housing units, modular equipment rooms, chiller plants, boiler rooms and modular enclosures.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to identify cost improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, engineering, and manufacturing teams to define product requirements and specifications.
- Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets for new product initiatives, and manage project execution to meet established goals.
- Drive innovation within the organization by fostering a culture of creativity, experimentation, and continuous improvement.
- Evaluate new technologies, materials, and processes to enhance product performance, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Work closely with engineering teams to oversee product design, prototyping, testing, and validation activities.
- Conduct regular reviews and updates on project status, milestones, and key performance indicators.
What Requirements Are Needed
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, or a related field; advanced degree a plus but not required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in product improvement, application engineering, innovation management, or product engineering.
- Previous experience required in product line cost reduction strategies.
- Proven track record of successfully specifying products or launching new products from concept to commercialization.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functional teams.
- Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset and a passion for driving innovation.
- Experience working in the HVAC or modular building construction industry is a requirement.
- Knowledge of design software, CAD tools, and product lifecycle management systems.
- Ability to travel as needed to meet with customers, attend industry events, and visit manufacturing facilities.
