Basic Housing provided. The Director of Safety (OHS) is responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of strategies, policies, and programs that ensure a safe, healthy, and compliant work environment. This role leads the organization's efforts to prevent injuries and illnesses, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote a culture of safety throughout all levels of the organization. * Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive safety programs in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations. - Lead safety team including training, scheduling and supporting team response to incidents * Oversee safety committee and coordinate appropriate investigations and actions with department leaders. * Provide strategic leadership and guidance on safety initiatives, risk assessments, and injury prevention programs. * Ensure compliance with applicable laws, standards, and regulations; maintain documentation and reporting as required. * Conduct regular audits, inspections, and assessments of work environments, equipment, and practices. * Collaborate with HR, operations, and engineering on safety-related initiatives and return-to-work programs. * Oversee safety training programs; ensure team members and leadership are educated on workplace safety protocols. * Monitor workplace exposure to hazardous materials or environments and implement controls to minimize risks. * Lead emergency preparedness planning, including evacuation procedures and crisis response. * Prepare and manage the safety budget and resources. * Interface with government agencies, insurers, and regulatory bodies as requested.
