Supply and Receiving
Job Summary:
Indiana Packers Corporation (IPC), a dynamic fresh pork processor based in Delphi, Indiana is seeking a motivated candidate to join our Supply and Receiving Department. This role will sort boxes into pallets, place the pallets in our cold storage facility and load semitrucks operating forklift and other equipment for products to be delivered to customers.
This Supply and Receiving position is needed for 8-10 hours a day, including mandatory overtime and Saturdays. First shift hours for this position are 8:00am to 4:30pm.
Responsibilities:
- Team members will unload deliveries, verify receipt, receive items into computer and deliver to correct location.
- Use forklift/walkie rider to move items.
- Perform physically demanding work in extreme cold environments, while keeping safety as top priority.
- Collaborate with co-workers, supervisors, and managers by maintaining a positive work atmosphere.

Qualifications:
- All applicants must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred
- Forklift Certified preferred
- Experience with inventory control procedures is strongly preferred
- Perform constant repetition of stacking boxes weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Stand on concrete floors for an extended period of time
- Must be able to lift and exert push and/or pull force 50-100 lbs.
- Must be able to work in cold and freezing temperature
- Able to operate forklift and pallet jack safely and efficiently
- Must be able to learn use of bar code scanner and handheld scanner equipment
- Unload deliveries using forklift/walkie rider equipment
- Work while wearing all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Understand and follow oral and written instructions including company policies & procedures
- Must be able to recognize and act on incidents of safety risk and report all shipping problems to Supervisor or Lead person.
- Must be able to work all scheduled hours (including Saturdays), which may include mandatory overtime, depending on production needs.
- Upon offer applicant must successfully pass a physical assessment and drug screen.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions on the site including exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud and hearing protection is required. The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and extreme cold environments.
Physical Demand:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
The position lifts heavy objects up to 50 lbs., walks and stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls, or carries objects; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support without fatigue. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arms and fingers, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. The position requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs. The employee must have excellent stamina and vision.

This Supply and Receiving position earn a competitive wage of $21.46 per hour for the first shift.

This factory position is in Delphi Indiana (6755 W 100 N Delphi, IN 46923), a short drive from Lafayette Indiana & Purdue University.
