Under the general direction of the administrator and working in collaboration with administrators and early childhood team members, the Early Childhood Data Specialist assists in the development and implementation of quality research, data collection, and evaluation to plan and inform projects and grants for Early Childhood staff, Ingham ISD constituent districts, and other partner Community-Based Organizations. This position develops, coordinates, and maintains necessary databases and coordinates the accurate and timely submission of related reports in support of early childhood grants, especially state-funding preschool grants (specifically PreK for All), in compliance with established policies, procedures, and practices.

• Assists in developing and conducting survey research and evaluation projects, writes extensive reports of data findings, and prepares and presents results of survey and evaluation projects.
• Develops data collection instruments such as questionnaires and interviewing routes. Develops new ways to cross-examine multiple types of data to improve processes and outcomes in Early Childhood.
• Coordinates data collection and quality control procedures. Creates and maintains databases and data files using various computer systems and programs for surveys, reporting, evaluation projects, assessments, and grants.
