Description
Responsible for all aspects of the recruiting, hiring and onboarding process for CU*Answers and Network Partners participating in the Human Resources Team's recruiting services. This person will work directly with the VP - HR to recruit, interview and onboard top talent for all open positions within the organization. They work to establish a network in the community to source candidates from including talent agencies, professional organizations, media, colleges and universities.
The ability to apply independent judgment is critical in managing complex tasks and making decisions that directly impact the organization's success. This includes assessing situations, analyzing available information, and evaluating potential risks and benefits to determine the best course of action. The individual in this role is expected to make well-informed decisions without constant supervision, addressing challenges with confidence and ensuring alignment with organizational goals and values. This function involves balancing competing priorities, managing ambiguity, and handling urgent or sensitive matters with discretion.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Uses independent judgment in supporting full-cycle recruiting processes to help meet the organization's hiring goals and improve sourcing strategies.
2. Collaborates with managers to assess staffing needs and recommends sourcing and recruiting strategies based on best practices and organizational goals.
3. Proactively builds and maintains relationships with applicant sources including community organizations, colleges, recruiters, and online platforms to strengthen candidate pipelines.
4. Exercises discretion in drafting and placing job advertisements across media platforms and determining the best channels for outreach based on position type and urgency.
5. Screens candidates using a consistent set of criteria, evaluating soft skills, qualifications, and cultural fit to support informed hiring decisions.
6. Advises hiring managers on candidate qualifications and facilitates the interview process, acting as a liaison and advocate for both the candidate and the company.
7. Coordinates complex interview logistics including scheduling, travel, lodging, and hospitality, using discretion to create a positive candidate experience.
8. Oversees the onboarding process to ensure a smooth transition for new hires, adjusting schedules and materials as needed to support employee success.
9. Manages the company's social media presence for recruiting, exercising creativity and discretion to align messaging with company values and branding.
10. Independently researches and recommends new tools and platforms for candidate sourcing, recruitment marketing, and process improvement.
11. Enhances organizational appeal by evaluating and suggesting improvements to job descriptions, employment policies, and compensation strategies.
12. Maintains compliance with employment laws and company policies, using sound judgment to recommend and support updates to procedures.
13. Actively engages in ongoing professional development and uses learned knowledge to improve HR processes and suggest enhancements.
14. Provides analytical recruiting reports to the VP of HR, using independent assessment of trends and data to recommend future actions.
15. Supports benefit enrollment by addressing employee questions and using discretion to escalate complex concerns to benefit administrators.
16. Participates in the development and execution of internal HR programs and initiatives, providing input and support as directed by the VP of HR.
17. Maintains and updates employee records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in all HR databases and filing systems.
18. Provides guidance and system administration for HR tools, using independent problem-solving skills to support employees with payroll, benefits, intranet, and organizational tools.
19. Cross-trains on various HR tasks and provides backup support to the HR team, using discretion to prioritize and respond to business needs.
20. Exercise extensive independent judgment to assess complex situations, analyze information, and make decisions that align with organizational goals.
21. Manage multiple priorities effectively, demonstrating discretion and sound decision-making across all responsibilities.
22. Perform additional duties as assigned to support organizational goals and evolving business needs.
Requirements
1. Four-year degree in business-related field (Human Resources preferred) or equivalent work experience required. Equivalent experience would be at least 2-3 years of working experience in human resources or recruiting.
2. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
3. Excellent ability to effectively handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
4. Excellent ability to prioritize work and determine critical tasks.
5. Ability to take initiative and provides timely and appropriate follow-up regarding areas of responsibility and meet commitments.
