The Position
Under the direction of the Athletics Director, the Athletics Program Specialist will assist with Youth and Adult Basketball Program organization, tracking and reporting functions, scheduling, as well as communications and marketing functions. This individual must maintain high personal standards and adhere to carrying out the Values and Purpose of Greater Midland.
Major Job Responsibilities
? Assist with administrative duties, related to Youth and Adult Basketball Programs.
? Assist with scheduling officials, coaches and volunteers.
? Assist with communication and marketing tasks, both internally and externally.
? Work cooperatively and professionally with all program participants, parents, Greater Midland staff and volunteers.
? Work a nontraditional schedule to support Youth and Adult Basketball programming including evenings and weekends as needed, with 30% of time in program delivery.
? Provide timely, accurate and concise communications to program participants before, during and following program sessions/seasons.
? Ensure all hiring requirements established by Greater Midland are followed.
? Complete, in a timely manner, all requests from supervisor in the achievements of department and Center goals/objectives.
? Consistently demonstrate leadership behaviors aligned with Greater Midland’s Values.
Qualifications
? High school diploma, GED or equivalent education
? CPR/First Aid or able to obtain upon hire
? Excellent people skills; ability to work with a wide variety of personalities
? Strong verbal and written communication skills
? Basketball playing and/or coaching experience preferred
Physical Requirements
Office is located in the Greater Midland Community Center. Regular communication and contact with employees, guests, members and volunteers. Repetitive keyboard activity and sitting at computer workstation; bending and stooping for paperwork filing and maintenance. Able to stand and/or sit for long periods while running/teaching athletics programs
