Under the direct supervision of the Director of Early Childhood Special Education Services and in accordance with the established policies and procedures of the Ingham Intermediate School District, the Speech and Language Pathologist shall provide supportive services to children age 0-3 with disabilities. The Speech and Language Pathologist will focus on child evaluation, provision of direct and indirect therapy services, family-centered services, and collaborative consultation with staff, parents, agency personnel and administrators.
- Provides comprehensive speech and language evaluation of children age 0-3 referred to Early On for suspected developmental delays in: articulation, language, fluency, voice, pragmatic/social communication and pre-linguistic areas.
- Serves as a member of the Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team for children age 0-3 suspected of having a disability.
- Assists the family in understanding the etiology and physiology of the child’s delay, impairment, and/or diagnosed condition. Supports the family by relating this information to the physical and educational needs of the child, and by providing resources to assist the family in addressing the child’s needs.
