Hours: Full Time Management Position - 45 Hours per week
Earliest Shift: 4 am
Latest Shift: 1 am *must be available to work a variety of shifts between these hours.
Must be willing to work evenings, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
Function overview: Must possess a sense of good style, design, taste and eye for detail. Under the direction of the Director of Facility Management & Design, the Corporate Grounds Manager is responsible for maintaining high standards for the grounds and outside facilities.
The Corporate Grounds Manager is responsible for the planning, oversight, and hands-on leadership of all exterior maintenance and landscaping operations across the Bavarian Inn Lodge campus, including the hotel, waterpark, conference center, and associated facilities. This position ensures the property reflects our brand’s Bavarian charm, while also meeting the functional and safety needs of a high-volume tourism environment.
This role combines team leadership, vendor management, seasonal planning, and environmental stewardship in a dynamic setting that changes with Michigan’s seasons and Frankenmuth’s year-round tourism calendar.
Basic Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Degree in Landscaping or Horticulture or minimum 3 years equivalent experience
Previous experience and knowledge of planting and upkeep of vegetation and property grounds
Additional knowledge equivalent to one-year experience of light repair and maintenance.
Performs physical activities and require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as reaching, climbing, lifting (75 lbs.), balancing, walking, stooping and handling of materials.
Ability to be on your feet for long periods of time.
Ability to direct and manage staff.
Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
Keeps up-to-date technically and applies new knowledge to job.
Ability to operate, maneuver, navigate and drive vehicles, such as forklifts and passenger vehicles.
Valid state driver’s license required.
Ability to work both indoors and outdoors year around.
Ability to handle gardening tools and equipment
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Able to cope with high-pressure situations and guest complaints.
Proficient in use of computers and computer systems.
