The Position
Under the direction of the Marketing & Communications Manager, the Marketing & Communication Specialist (“Specialist”) is responsible for enhancing the identity of Greater Midland across all areas (marketing, communication, print, digital, signage, photography, etc.) within brand guidelines. The Specialist requires the ability to write succinctly, exceptional proofreading skills and a
high-level knowledge of existing and emerging social media platforms. The Specialist must have a sense of urgency and organization to meet competing deadlines, working both as a team member and independently to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The Specialist must be familiar with systems to create, edit and produce promotional graphic materials. The Specialist must
maintain a productive working relationship with multiple operating unit staff members from Program Coordinators to Executive-level leadership. This also includes external relationships, always focusing on customer service when
responding to questions, comments and feedback through social and email. The Specialist must maintain high personal standards, and adhere to, and carry out, the Purpose and Values of Greater Midland.
Major Job Responsibilities
? Develop marketing collateral from copywriting to design to fulfillment in electronic and traditional print mediums as needed.
? Create and manage campaign timelines and execution.
? Exhibit excellent writing and design skills, photography experience is a plus.
? Execute social media strategies (i.e. posting, sharing, engaging, liking, increasing social reach and building meaningful connections, etc.).
? Research and develop marketing and promotional tactics using targeting and audience segmentation.
? Track and record the progress and performance of campaigns using Greater Midland’s management system.
? Review and assess the return on investment (ROI) for campaigns to determine the effectiveness and future strategies.
? Manage organizational communications.
? Work independently and take the initiative solving problems, enhancing the brand and improving operational efficiencies.
? Consistently demonstrate leadership behaviors aligned with Greater Midland’s Values.
Qualifications
? Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, graphic design or related field, or at least 3 years marketing and/or design experience in a fast-paced environment.
? Proficient in creating graphics and editing within the Adobe Suite, Canva, or other comparable software, and Microsoft Office.
? Proficient in social media targeting and communication on Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and others.
? Experience implementing and managing multi-faceted projects (i.e. marketing plans & social media campaigns)
? Self-driven and independent while embracing a team focused environment.
? Strong writing and proofreading skills.
? Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
Physical Requirements
Office is located in the Greater Midland Community Center; however, travel to other Operating Units will be required.
Regular communication and contact with vendors, employees and members. Sitting for long periods of time and extended computer usage.
Schedule
Hours between Monday – Friday from 8a to 5p.
