JOB SUMMARY:
Hamilton Community Schools is seeking an energetic, personable, team player with a servant’s heart to be our next building secretary at Sandyview Learning Center. Applicants must also be skilled at providing outstanding customer service in a fast-paced environment in which interruptions are the norm and the ability to be flexible and multi-task is essential.

- Knowledgeable regarding PC and Chromebook computer systems
- Skilled in word processing (Microsoft Word, Google) and spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel, Google)
- Proficient with data entry and management of various web-based databases such as PowerSchool (School Connects), MUNIS, MICR, FinalForms, Red Rover and Foxbright
- Experienced with payroll processing/ willingness to be trained in this area.
- Able to respect the privacy of those within our school community and maintain confidentiality at all times
Other functions of the job include but are not limited to the following:
- Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students from diverse cultural, economic, and ability backgrounds
- Encourage parent and community involvement, obtain information for parents when requested, promptly return phone calls and answer emails
- Assist with preschool enrollment, collecting documents and reporting as needed.
- Assist with licensing requirements for preschool as directed.
- Help maintain and update the HVS and SLC websites.
- Manage the Virtual School field trip class.
- Assist with program communication for Hawkeye Preschool and Hamilton Virtual School.
- Other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

- Typing/keyboarding skills of 50 wpm with accuracy
- Two years of experience in a related field or equivalent training
- Demonstrated ability to operate the office equipment as listed in the tools and equipment area above
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, using proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation both verbally and in writing
- Demonstrated ability to perform general office procedures with accuracy
- Must be able to acquire a working understanding of account codes
- Demonstrated ability to perform independently
- Must be accurate, dependable, tactful, and confidential
- Problem-solving skills are required
- Demonstrated ability to perform on the computer using Windows environment and related Microsoft applications and Google Suite applications
- Must be self-motivated toward assigned duties, work well under pressure, and possess the ability to work with constant interruptions in a positive manner
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with others as part of a team

SALARY RANGE: $18.50
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer, hand-held learning devices and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25+ pounds.
