Job Description
Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, coordinates special internal and external public and community affairs projects and serves as a liaison for civic/community relation initiatives. Coordinates various projects that will enhance the hospital and surrounding neighborhoods. Coordinates programs with various populations including senior citizens and faith based groups. Represents the hospital at community and political events. Coordinates and conduct health insurance enrollments and health fairs, speaker's bureau program and summer camp program. Coordinates internal staff activities, events and regularly communicates with staff regarding programs and initiatives. Coordinates volunteer efforts for all internal/external programs and events. Attends monthly neighborhood and community meetings as directed. Prepares activity reports as requested.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Community Affairs or related discipline, or the equivalent combination of education and/or experience. 2. Two years of progressively more responsible experience in Public Relations, Community Relations, Community Health Education/Outreach or related experience, including a demonstrated interest in and participation in community service activities. 3. Community group memberships and civic board appointments or membership desirable.
