Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Project Manager to lead and coordinate automation projects from initiation through delivery. This role involves managing cross-functional teams, maintaining customer relationships, and ensuring successful execution of technical projects. Key Responsibilities
Project Execution & Coordination
- Lead planning, scheduling, and execution of control system and automation projects.
- Coordinate efforts across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, sales, and customer-facing teams.
- Manage project milestones, budgets, and deliverables from kickoff to commissioning.
Customer Interface & Communication
- Act as the primary contact for customers during project execution.
- Communicate project status, manage expectations, and ensure technical alignment.
- Facilitate smooth hand-offs from sales to engineering and production.
Quoting & Estimating Support
- Collaborate with sales and engineering to develop accurate project quotes.
- Provide input on scopes of work, labor/material assumptions, and delivery timelines.
Process Management
- Maintain detailed documentation including schedules, change orders, and internal reports.
- Conduct internal kickoff meetings, manage FATs, and support project close-out.
Risk & Issue Management
- Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Troubleshoot scheduling, procurement, or technical issues collaboratively.
Skills
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and results-driven.
Knowledge
- Familiarity with control systems (PLCs, VFDs, HMI panels), power distribution, and custom equipment.
- Understanding of industrial automation environments and controls engineering.
- Knowledge of project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Monday.com).
Ability to Implement
- Lead cross-functional teams and manage project timelines.
- Interpret technical requirements and translate them into actionable plans.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Adapt to changing project scopes and resolve issues efficiently.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or Project Management is helpful but not required.
- 1–3 years of experience in project management or technical coordination preferred.
- Experience in control panel assembly, manufacturing, or installation is a plus.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% for site visits, commissioning, and FATs.
