Sr. Group Account Analyst Full-time Operating Hours: 7:00 am to 5:30 pm (Shift bidding process based on seniority) Detroit, MI Responsible for the integrity and accuracy of income dollars recorded to the general ledger for billed and disputed premiums. This position is responsible for the reconciliation of unique/complex accounts, collection of premiums, resolution of premium payment discrepancies through on site and/or off site group contact, and preparing corrections to the membership database for issues associated with the invoice. This position also provides training support, as relates to mentoring the Group Account Analyst. * Conduct monthly reconciliation of unique group accounts that are complex due to size and variations of payment reporting, in order to identify payment variances, using sound accounting principles; inclusive of eligibility, underwriting, billing methods, rates and renewal periods, special agreements, cash receipt allocation and payment variances. Responsible for preparing necessary membership changes, preparation of manual adjustments and the accuracy of balances reported on the corporate aged receivable report. * Communicate with employer groups the results and/or clarification relating to account reconciliations, outstanding balances and payment discrepancies to include on-site and/or off-site contacts and visits. Assist the collection staff, sales staff and management with communication and collection of outstanding premium balances. Document each contact using department system. * Training support. * Prepare capitation and claims settlements as needed. * Maintain Inventory Tracking database. Maintain Workforce Management Tools system for production control including the input of data and working of regular reports. * Participate in corporate committees or work groups. * Other assigned duties by the Unit Leads and Management of the Membership and Billing Department. Qualifications * Associates degree or two (2) years of full time college credits with an emphasis in a business related discipline required. * Additional reconciliation or financial analysis experience of one year for each year of college waived will be considered in lieu of college credits. * Three (3) years of reconciliation or financial analysis experience required, with one (1) year of BCN Group Account Analyst reconciliation experience within the past year required. * Basic accounting and audit principals required. * Working knowledge of microcomputers and PC applications including word processing, database and spreadsheets required. * Knowledge of underwriting principles and billing procedures required. * Working knowledge of capitation and claims paid report. * Sound knowledge of BCN certificates and riders in relation to eligibility required. * Knowledge of Facets membership and billing sub systems required. * Strong analytical and mathematical skills. * Strong written and verbal communication skills. * PC skills; creating, maintaining and updating spreadsheets. * Must be able to work independently and manage multiple priorities. * Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships at all levels. * Strong listening and coaching skills.
