Customer Service Technician

• $18.25/hour
• This part-time, temporary position allows for a maximum of 1,000 hours per calendar year. It does not include any benefits. 

General Summary:

• Under the supervision of the Customer Service Manager, the Customer Service Temp provides support for Berrien County technology assets, troubleshoots software and hardware issues, performs hardware/software upgrades, solves print issues, and creates\maintains documented processes through the ticketing system.

Duties:

• Assists with maintenance and support of technology devices. Installs and supports printers, workstations, laptops, and other network connected hardware.
• Installs, configures, and upgrades computers, phones and other technology.
• Participates in special projects related to hardware and software enhancement.
• Assists with maintaining inventory and asset management.
• Resolves user account lockouts, expired passwords, and password resets.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Information Systems management.

Education:

• Completion of a minimum of 1 year of college coursework towards a degree in information technology, computer science, software development, network engineering or related discipline.

Special Requirements:

• Must possess and maintain a valid vehicle driver’s license with access to a reliable form of transportation throughout the course of employment.
• Will be required to maintain regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
• A background check will be performed; candidate may not have any felony convictions.
• Must possess physical dexterity and hand-eye coordination along with the ability to lift and carry 20+ pounds, bend, stoop, and stand.
• May be required to travel off-site.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem solving, and organization skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with and understand the needs of non-technical users.
• Capable of managing multiple tasks and projects from start to finish.
