The Sr. Production Manager is responsible for managing the majority of the manufacturing floor to ensure a strong safety culture, and drive performance growth, while maintaining excellent product quality and focus on alignment with the Company's core values. Duties typically include policy execution, people management, performance management, including process improvement, and collective bargaining agreement adherence. Incumbents influence others outside of their job area regarding policies, practices, and procedures, and are expected to consistently demonstrate the Company's core values. Major Accountability * Ensure a safe working environment on the shop floor * Direct and coordinate production functions for four or more departments. * Drive all assigned manufacturing departments to hit their production targets and proactively put measures in place to enhance efficiency. * Responsible for driving a strong partnership with the union leadership to improve morale and drive down conflict. Qualifications Key Tasks and Responsibilities * Develop direct reports to be stronger leaders through alignment of our core values and frequent, documented feedback. * Develop and implement procedures and strategies to ensure a safe work environment. * Collaborates with other managers and supervisors to coordinate activities in and among departments. * Drives continuous improvement through problem-solving. * Strong manufacturing floor presence guiding supervision. * Creates value stream maps and identifies launch areas and associated timelines. * Collects, evaluates, analyzes, and assesses production data, to make data-driven decisions. * Identifies and corrects problems and inefficiencies in processes, materials, equipment, or skills. * Drive communication and partnership with employees and the union regarding opportunities or complaints to drive improved efficiency and culture. * Know and understand the CBA and appropriate applications. * Ensures compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and best practices including those related to safety and health. * Consistently operate in a manner that aligns to the Core Values.
