Accounting Analyst

$35-40/HR
Job Description
Perform customer account analysis; month end close; reconciliations and analysis to complete; intercompany reconciliations differences; accounts receivable/payable invoicing with reference to intercompany transactions; miscellaneous requests; analytical review for assigned general ledger accounts and general ledger processing; recommend adjustments as necessary; system testing; development of test cases; and review and documentation of performed test cases.
Compliance – Ensure compliance with internal controls, including proper segregation of duties for ICS.
Summarization of skills required
The candidate must have an overall understanding of internal controls, recording and reporting of financial transactions, including the origination of the transactions, its recognition, processing and summarization in the financial statements. The candidate must be able to multitask and effectively deal with time constraints. The candidate must be able to work with a group and independently.
Analytical skills required
• Ability to collect data and establish facts and identify trends and variances
• Ability to integrate information from a variety of sources with varied levels of complexity
• Ability to review, interpret and evaluate accounting transactional information
PC Skills
• Microsoft Office (Excel and Access, including use of pivot tables and lookup functions in Excel)
• SAP
• Problem solving and analysis
Knowledge and Experience:
• 3 to 5 years of Accounting
Position Overview:
The accounting analyst is responsible for the reconciliation and reporting functions related our portfolio management system, Alfa. In this role the analyst will perform daily and monthly reconciliation of Alfa system data to our SAP general ledger system. The analyst will also work to clear the identified differences in a timely manner. At month end, the analyst will perform journal entries necessary for IFRS compliance and prepare reports utilized to analyze and ensure the accuracy of month end reporting. The analyst will ensure that ICS standards are maintained. At times, ad hoc reporting and analysis is required.

Month end and ad-hoc analysis
Skills and Qualifications:
Accounting background
Excel skills including use of pivot table, look up functions and submit commands
Basic data query skills including MS Access
