Position: Food Service Worker
Location: Saginaw Public Schools
Reports To: Supervisor of Food Service
General Summary:
Prepare and serve meals to district staff and students.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Must have knowledge of food product compliance, food safety, food cost, and tray cost

Must have experience with Point of Sale System

Ability to work in a multi-cultural, urban setting and develop a rapport with students, staff, parents, and the school community

Duties and Responsibilities:

Prepare entrees in accordance with established recipes and menu

Portion and serve dishes

Operate point of sale system and complete cashier duties

Perform general kitchen duties as assigned

Assist with maintaining food production, inventory, and temperature records

Fill in when Cafeteria Lead is absent

Participate in training as directed by managerial staff

Follow all food handling techniques

Assist with cleaning equipment and kitchen area

Establish good rapport with building staff and students

Perform other duties as assigned

School cafeteria environment with no physical discomfort due to temperature or cleanliness.

Method of Evaluation:
The Director of Food Service will evaluate this position annually. The evaluation form is available in the Human Resources and Labor Relations Department.
