General Summary:
The Title IA/Section 31a Math Support Teacher facilitates and supports the district's Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) by implementing Tier 3 interventions with fidelity. This role is central to the district's Turnaround initiative and student achievement improvement efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Deliver Tier 3 math interventions that promote active learning
-
Develop and implement individualized Tier 3 intervention plans

Modify instruction and materials to meet diverse student needs
-
Manage classroom behavior and enforce rules effectively

Provide supplemental math instruction in addition to core content
-
Support general education teachers with research-based strategies
-
Acquire skills and tools to improve instructional practices
-
Support grant implementation in coordination with school improvement efforts
-
Communicate student needs and progress to students, staff, and families
-
Monitor progress and adapt instruction based on student performance
-
Provide leadership and support for students at risk of failing
-
Participate in parent-teacher meetings and progress reviews
-
Oversee and manage Tier 3 software-based interventions
-
Attend professional development and monthly in-service meetings
-
Maintain records, inventories, time logs, and certification forms
-
Collaborate with intervention teams and curriculum events
-
Participate in parent engagement opportunities
-
Monitor, evaluate, and document student development and growth
-
Fulfill other assigned duties as needed
Education and/or Experience Requirements:
-
Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited institution
-
Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate or single-subject credential as applicable
-
Minimum of three years of relevant teaching experience
-
Experience supporting adult learners
-
Demonstrated ability to function as part of a collaborative instructional team
