General Summary:
Saginaw Public Schools Teachers are responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential. Teachers play a critical role in the district’s commitment to rapid school Turnaround.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Plan, prepare, and deliver effective instructional activities

Develop detailed lesson plans and instructional schemes

Set and communicate clear learning objectives

Organize and maintain an engaging classroom environment

Provide diverse resources to meet student learning needs

Instruct and guide students in using materials and equipment
-
Use technology to support instructional delivery

Observe, assess, and evaluate student performance

Assign, grade, and provide feedback on student work

Track and monitor student progress and development

Maintain required student records and reports in compliance with laws and policies

Implement classroom behavior expectations and enforce discipline policies

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited institution

Meets all professional teaching requirements for school, district, and state
-
Holds a valid Michigan teaching certificate with appropriate endorsements

Prior teaching experience preferred
