General Summary:
Saginaw Public Schools Teachers are responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing an instructional program that promotes student engagement and academic growth. Teachers are expected to establish a supportive and inclusive classroom environment while contributing to the district’s strategic Turnaround efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging instructional lessons
-
Develop schemes of work and aligned lesson plans

Communicate clear learning objectives

Prepare classroom environments and organize instructional resources

Adapt materials and teaching methods to individual student needs

Guide students in using educational equipment and technology

Evaluate and monitor academic performance

Assign, assess, and provide feedback on student work

Maintain accurate records of student progress and development

Prepare and submit required documentation and reports

Maintain consistent classroom discipline aligned with school policy

Apply appropriate behavioral interventions as needed

Support students socially and emotionally through counseling and encouragement

Attend team, departmental, and parent meetings

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited institution

Meets all teacher education requirements of the school, district, and state
-
Holds valid Michigan teacher certification with appropriate endorsements

Prior teaching experience preferred
