A client of Innova Solutions is immediately hiring an \n Automotive Electrical Technician.\n \n Position Type: Full Time, Contract \n Duration: 12 months\n Location: Detroit, MI\n \n Job Description:\n Looking for skilled Automotive Electrical Technicians in the Detroit, MI Area. This position is responsible for diagnosing electrical system circuit faults and repairing electrical wiring to OEM standards, diagnosing problems with all vehicles electrical systems, repairing damaged electrical parts, and maintaining electrical repair equipment for an automotive manufacturer.\n \n Roles and responsibilities include:\n * Provide weekday and some weekend on-site vehicle repair or repair person mentoring/coaching at an OEM vehicle assembly facility: shift could be 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift, hours 6am - 6pm (team has a schedule rotation, schedule to change based on assigned rotation)\n * Diagnose electrical issues and execute a course of action\n * Provide on-site leadership with estimated time for repairs\n * Repair and/or replace faulty wiring, connectors, or electrical systems\n * Install new vehicle wiring systems per OEM standards\n * Repair and troubleshoot immobilizer and alarm systems\n * Service of electrical automotive parts\n * Service and repair electrical systems on new OEM vehicles\n * Maintain a clean working environment\n * Complete job reports and processing paperwork\n * Instruct and guide other repair personnel to improve their understanding of vehicle electrical systems and subsystems\n * Present and demonstrate efficient and effective methods of diagnosing and correcting vehicle electrical systems and sub-system deficiencies\n * Conduct root cause analysis to accurately identify the cause(s) of vehicle deficiencies\n * Act as a Subject Matter Expert for other repair personnel by providing interpretation of vehicle electrical system architectures and schematics\n * Communicate and share lessons learned with site leadership and other repair personnel on a timely basis\n * Travel occasionally required (as needed) to work sites in other states\n \n Required Skills:\n * Minimum of 5 years' experience as an electrical repair technician\n * Advanced knowledge of modern vehicular electrical systems\n * Ability to work in confined vehicle spaces\n * Complex problem-solving skills\n * Good communication skills\n * Ability to work standing or in a crouched position for long periods\n * Ability to distinguish subtle color variations\n * Demonstrated knowledge of automotive systems from an advanced diagnostics perspective\n * Ability to read and interpret a digital multimeter, OEM diagnostic scan tool and other automotive related diagnostic test equipment\n * Ability to effectively conduct one-on-one and small group discussions\n * Ability to interpret early engineering level electrical schematic diagrams\n * Ability to work independently without supervision\n * Valid Driver's License\n \n Desired Skills:\n * ASE certifications\n * Experience as a shop foreman or lead technician\n * Automotive electrical schematic development experience\n * Automotive Technical Assistance Center Experience\n \n Required Education:\n * Associates Degree or Certificate in Automotive Technology, engineering, or other related discipline.\n \n Qualified candidates should APPLY NOW for immediate consideration!
