General Summary:
Saginaw Public Schools Teachers are responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential. Duties and Responsibilities:

Coordinate IEP, MET, and Manifestation Determination meetings with parent notifications
-
Maintain accurate records for B-worksheets, attendance, and discipline
-
Inform principal about disciplinary implications related to student disabilities
-
Keep updated student IEP binders and discipline documentation
-
Provide parents regular progress reports aligned with report cards
-
Prepare and organize IEPs with appropriate goals and objectives
-
Lead the IEP process for students in caseload
-
Deliver instructional services as required by student IEPs
-
Provide direct instruction based on individual education plans
-
Support general education staff with accommodations and services
-
Offer supplemental instruction tied to general curriculum
-
Maintain service schedules with duration and frequency documentation
-
Help coordinate student course schedules
-
Assist MET teams in evaluation and placement processes
-
Implement instructional strategies aligned to district goals
-
Maintain communication with families and general education staff
-
Stay informed of legislative updates affecting special education
-
Report new students due to address changes to the Special Education Office
-
Submit paperwork to records office within ten (10) days post-meeting
-
Perform other assigned duties
Education and/or Experience Requirements:
-
Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited institution
-
Meets all professional education requirements of the School, District, and State
-
Holds proper certification or endorsement for assigned teaching subject
-
Possesses required state credentials for emotional impairment
-
Prior teaching experience preferred

Based on education and experience.
