Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Schedule and coordinate IEP, MET, and Manifestation Determination meetings

2. Maintain accurate records, including B-worksheets and discipline/special ed documentation

3. Advise on impact of disabilities on discipline

4. Keep binder of IEPs and discipline forms available for review

5. Provide progress updates to parents concurrent with general education reports

6. Prepare IEP documents and develop goals and objectives

7. Chair IEP meetings for caseload students

8. Plan and implement instruction for assigned students

9. Deliver direct instruction per IEP requirements

10. Support general education staff in accommodations and supplemental needs

11. Provide curriculum-based supplemental instruction

12. Maintain and document student service schedules

13. Assist in scheduling coursework for special education students

14. Collaborate with MET team for evaluations and placements

15. Align instructional strategies with district strategic plan

16. Maintain active communication with staff and families

17. Stay current with special education laws and practices

18. Notify special education office of address-related student changes

19. Send paperwork to records office within 10 days of meeting

20. Other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited institution

• Must meet professional teacher education requirements of school, district, and state

• Valid single-subject credential or endorsement if required

• State certification and required endorsements for subject/area

• Relevant teaching experience
