Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Work Order Specialist to join our client in Detroit, MI. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing work orders for a multi- week schedule for a team involved in preventative maintenance, equipment outages, maintenance modifications. This role candidate will be working with vendors, contractors and internal resources to execute work projects maximizing efficiency and minimizing costs. The qualified candidate will require strong coordination, planning, scheduling and estimating skills to ensure maintenance/work is performed in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
This is a contract role with the opportunity for direct hire.
Duties
- Develop step by step process and job plans to complete work scope
- Completes required procurement tasks as needed
- Validates resources and job plan estimates against actuals
- Create and support multi week schedules for major projects, including milestone dates
- Maintain and support the management of preventative maintenance work
- Utilize in Maximo Documentum, SAP. EBS, scheduling software and Office 365 to create, plan and execute work plans
- Provide oversight of employees and contractors as needed
- Recommends the most effective use of both internal and external resources including the use of data analytics
Skills
- Preferred requirements are associates degree in an engineering discipline and 2+ years' experience of mechanical, electrical or instrument experience in the utilities field
- Minimum requirements High school diploma with 3 years of estimating, scheduling, planning experience in a power plant environment or 7 years of experience working on equipment found in power station, electric utility or heavy industrial construction setting in a skilled trade.
- Knowledge of LOTO and or PPO77
- Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, measuring devices
- Estimating skills and experience predicated on critical and documented assumptions
- Experience in developing work scope schedule
- Proficient in analyzing data and making informed decisions based on findings.
- Ability to type efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
