Position: Branch Leader I
Employment Status: Grade 11 / Exempt
Reports to: Branch Operations Director
Position Overview
The primary purpose of this position is to assist Members First Credit Union to deliver on its mission, vision, and brand promise. You will do this by living out our core values in every service contact to both internal and external members. Essential Duties

Lead the team to maximize productivity, efficiency, and performance, including hiring, onboarding, coaching, and goal setting

Appraise performance and recommend compensation, promotion, or disciplinary action

Maintain branch facility and collaborate with Facilities/Marketing team
-
Must be available Monday–Friday 8 a.m.–5 p.m., with Saturday coverage and occasional travel/overnights as needed

Successfully obtain Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor (CCUFC) designation within the first year
Duties and Responsibilities

Provide orientation and cross-training for branch staff

Collaborate with HR and Branch Operations Director on staffing, performance, and compensation

Monitor and manage department budget and variances
-
Ensure competitiveness by staying current with industry trends

Resolve member complaints and ensure a high standard of service

Serve as subject matter expert in branch software

Continuously improve branch processes and update procedures

Ensure branch and individual cash drawers balance daily

Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
Member Relationship Representative Duties:

Explain products and services thoroughly

Oversee audit process for new accounts

Prepare adverse action letters when needed
General Sales Expectations:

Use Sales Champion behaviors to build member relationships

Oversee and support the member onboarding process

Ensure members are fully served
Other:

Answer phones, process mail, and support member inquiries

Attend training and educational functions

Maintain current product knowledge

Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications and Expectations

Ability to meet and exceed goals and deadlines

Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills

Team-oriented with a high level of reasoning ability

In-depth knowledge of credit union products, services, policies, and procedures

Familiarity with state and federal laws governing credit union operations

Ability to implement new procedures and technologies effectively

Capable of travel, overtime, and occasional overnight stays

Ability to attain CCUFC within 6 months and MI Credit Producers License within 6 months

Strong interpersonal and member service skills

Effectively apply financial counseling concepts from FiCEP training

High school diploma or equivalent required

One year of experience in a management or supervisory role

One year of banking or credit union experience

Three to five years of similar or related experience

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook

Working knowledge of credit union products and services

Ability to use a 10-key calculator and typewriter
