Hamilton Community Schools is seeking an excellent educator to work as an Interventionist at Blue Star Elementary. The Interventionist will provide instruction in all academic areas to Blue Star Elementary students who have been identified as needing additional support.

REPORTS TO: Building Principal
START DATE: 2025-2026 School Year
RATE OF PAY: $28.29/hour
WEEKLY HOURS: 35 hours /week (school year)
Essential Functions:
- Assist teachers with individualized instruction in reading and math
- Lead small groups of learners and provide written and verbal feedback
- Plan lessons
- Prepare data (DIBELS, i-Ready, and EBLI)
- Use data to make instructional decisions
- Work with the paraprofessional team
- Assess students with DIBELS
- Monitor recess and lunchroom
- Manage students both in small and large groups
- Plan special events such as Family Literacy Night, Book Fair, and Book Swap with the Service Committee and Principal
- Work with the MTSS Coordinator to train paraprofessional staff
- Other duties as assigned

- Must hold a valid Michigan teaching certificate
- Ability to relate well with students, staff, and parents while building cooperative and effective working relationships in a positive manner
- Prefer previous work experience with Pre-K through 4th grade students, including students with special needs; experience with DIBELS and other phonics-based reading programs, EBLI trained, and i-Ready
- Ability to follow written and oral communication
- Ability to problem solve
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Must have the ability and proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis
- Perform all other related work delegated or required to accomplish the objectives of the total school program
- Knowledge and implementation of relevant technology
- Meet professional teacher education requirements of the school, district, and state
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer, hand-held learning devices and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25+ pounds.
