The Product Sales Specialist-Business Development is responsible for placing proactive outbound calls to established customers and potential prospects through our Every Hospital in America Initiative. Product Sales Specialist-Business Development will develop, maintain, and implement business partnerships with their assigned customers in the health system business unit within a specific Health Systems segment. This includes new business development, selling products and promotions, communicating recent price reductions, and soliciting competitive intelligence in order to expand and retain existing business.
This role is responsible for sales and account management within assigned (territory) existing primary and secondary customers to include sale of Cencora products and solutions, customer retention, contract performance, as well as solution implementation. There will be an emphasis on channel access within Cencora optimization, generic/packaging opportunities and product launch discussions within assigned accounts. The Product Sales Specialist is also responsible for learning classes of trade, key product segments and Cencora channel options for proactive customer access discussions. They remain a uniquely differentiated, highly valued, customer resource by proactively and continually advancing their personal knowledge, skills and expertise in a way that separates them from the competition. Initiate proactive calls to established customers in order to grow sales revenue, develop customer loyalty, increase expanded portfolio sales and foster utilization of the company programs and service
Conduct pre-call research and planning to set goals for the call and to anticipate customer needs and industry trends
Develops and maintains strong customer relationships with an assigned group of customer accounts
Initiate and conduct proactive calls designed to recruit customers who have shown an interest in doing business with the Company
Analyze reports to identify customer trends in order to either take advantage of the trend or minimize the impact of the trend
Collaborate with shared health system account owner to drive customer strategy
Access inventory systems to assist customer with availability information. Achieve individual quarterly sales goals as set by sales management
Meet performance standards including call productivity, sales growth and collection of competitive data
Proactively identify customer and product opportunities as in the best interest of the Company
Maintains expansion catalog program within assigned territory by informing customers and prospects about available products, services, prices and new launches
Participates in department meetings
Enter and maintain integrity of data in company's CRM software programs
Support the Product Sales Manager and perform related duties as assigned.
Experience and Educational Requirements:
Requires broad training in fields such as business administration, accountancy, sales, marketing, computer sciences or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four year Bachelors degree program, technical vocational training, or equivalent combination of experience and education
Normally requires a minimum of one (1) to two (2) years directly related and progressively responsible experience.
Minimum Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent interpersonal skills and relationship building skills to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with both customers and other ABC associates
Excellent oral communication skills to present information and solutions in a professional manner
Good analytical skills sufficient to prepare quotes, analyze data, and to identify and resolve customer problems
Good mathematical skills

Ranges in Colorado/California/Washington/New York/Hawaii/Vermont/Minnesota/Massachusetts/Illinois State-specific locations may be up to 10% lower than the minimum salary range, and 12% higher than the maximum salary range.
