We are seeking a talented individual to join our Health & Benefits team at Mercer. This role has the option of being based in either of our Michigan offices: Grand Rapids or Southfield, MI. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office. As a Employee Benefits Account Manager, you will serve in a project management and client service capacity for client accounts in a variety of sizes and industries regarding their medical, dental, life, and disability benefit plans and programs. You will negotiate with benefits carriers and vendors to secure health and welfare plan coverage, serve as a day-to-day client contact for account support while working in collaboration with a Lead Strategist. We will count on you to: * Consult on a client engagement of variable complexity, supporting service delivery, strategy, financial evaluations, plan design, renewals, business placements, benchmarking, and other studies, under the direction of a lead strategist. * Understand the full scope of services provided to clients and delegate, set roles/responsibilities within the client team. * Effectively communicate Mercer's position on the latest industry trends to clients. * Prepare and manage client reports and presentation deliverables, managing the timelines of tasks in accordance with project expectations. * Present portions of deliverables to clients and prospects, demonstrating understanding of material. What you need to have: * BA/BS degree. * Minimum of 5 years of experience in identifying, designing, recommending, and implementing efficient, innovative business solutions to clients' complex healthcare benefits challenges. * Renowned expertise and industry reputation in the health & benefits field. * Client-facing experience in a consulting environment. * Life & Health License.(must be obtained within 30 days of hire) What makes you stand out: * Strong, innovative sales and marketing skills, with the ability to effectively market organizational strengths. * Superior analytical and mathematical skills, along with strategic planning, communication, and listening skills. * Proven management skills in leading large, complex projects.
