Position Summary(Basic Job Function)
This a temporary or on-call position. Provides a wide variety of consulting services including conference, seminar or workshop design/presentation; operations review and analysis; project design, completion, coordination or management; or related consulting services. Consultants paid on grant funds must be paid on an hourly or daily basis, with a minimum wage of $12.00 per hour. Term: Temps can work two (2) nine (9) month terms with a week break in service in between at the end of the second term terminate for three (3) months or switch to an on-call. On-Call allowed to work 1039 hours in any twelve (12) month period.
Unit Position Summary
This consulting role will support IPF Design and Construction (D&C) department, focusing on capital project delivery to ensure business processes are completed within the proposed time frames, track budget compliance, audit change management items for completeness and contract compliance, and attend progress and decision-making meetings. This position will also assist with off-campus large scale design/build projects such as the HFH+MSU Detroit Research Center and partnerships with Public/Private entities. This position requires a vehicle operators license in order to travel between meetings on and off campus. Regular attendance is required to meet business and customer needs; a hybrid schedule is allowable after a successful probationary period.
The consultant will lead an effort to evaluate business needs for project delivery software that will assist in capital project delivery. Additionally, this role will develop and provide a monthly construction audit report to allow D&C management to identify opportunities for improvement, provide strategic support, and act as a data resource for the D&C Director. The consultant may also provide support for Autodesk Build as a Console Administrator, offer process mapping support, and advocate for process efficiency. Other consulting tasks may be assigned based on project needs.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities are as follows:

Desired Qualifications
A seasoned construction management professional that has 15 - 20+ years of experience. Experience with large scale design/build projects. At least 10 years of experience with budget tracking, project compliance, and change management. The ability to handle competing priorities in a fast paced enviornment. An experienced professional who can handle large scale data sets for reporting, and strategic support.
