Bishop Baraga Catholic School is seeking a 2nd Grade Teacher to join their team in Iron Mountain, MI. As a 2nd Grade Teacher, you are responsible for teaching all subjects including reading, writing, math, science, social studies, handwriting, English grammar, and religion.

WHAT YOU WILL DO.
- Teach a classical second-grade curriculum adopted by the Diocese of Marquette, including any additional programs adopted by the Bishop Baraga Catholic School.
- Instruct students in accordance with the magisterial teachings of the Catholic Church using the approved religious education curriculum.
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons to support academic success.
- Maintain effective classroom management strategies.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding students’ academic, social, and behavioral progress.
- Participate in school-provided professional development opportunities.
- Attend all required staff meetings and school functions.
- Adhere to policies and procedures outlined in the Faculty Handbook and the Diocese of Marquette Personnel Policy Manual.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR.
- Bachelor’s degree in elementary education preferred.
- Michigan teaching certificate (or equivalent certification in another state).
- Practicing Catholic preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
- Must be able to complete fingerprint scan, federally mandated background check, and VIRTUS training.
