This position involves preparing for and teaching the range of courses in assigned discipline area to achieve course requirement and student success outcomes. Course assignments may occur in a classroom setting, learning lab, online, and field experience including internship, CTE or dual enrollment environment.
Examples of Duties
- Teaches assigned classroom courses, including safety and environmental issues.
- Holds appropriate office hours for meeting with and assisting students.
- Participates in the departmental assessment of student learning outcomes at both the course and program level.
- Maintains welding lab.
- Utilizes departmental syllabi.
- Assesses student academic achievement, providing students with timely and meaningful feedback on progress in the course(s).
- Maintains and reports appropriate classroom records, including attendance and grades.
- Prepares welding lab for classes (e.g., student stations, tools, equipment, supplies, etc.)
- Assists faculty with the implementation of competency-based objectives and outcome measures for the WLD program and courses taught.
- Supports and serves as a role model for our mission, vision, and student service initiatives. Adheres to the policies, procedures, and compliance guidelines of the college. Ensures support for the Teaching Profession Code of Ethics.
- Maintains and reports appropriate lab records (e.g. inventory, PROE, etc.).
- Supports and serves as a role model for our mission, vision, strategic and service initiatives. Adheres to the organization’s policies & procedures and compliance guidelines.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Typical Qualifications
Education, Certification, Licensure:
- Welding Certification preferred
Experience:
- Two years of experience working in professional welding setting

- Knowledge of course content and learning objectives of assigned course(s).
- Ability to develop and effectively deliver course content/objectives and facilitate an effective learning environment for students to maximize their success.
- Knowledge of computer and educational technology and ability to effectively integrate technology into the classroom.
- Ability to plan, organize and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and be comfortable working in a close, collaborative manner with other faculty and administration.
