SUMMARY: This position works directly for the Chief Claims Officer as a member of the Corporate Claims senior leadership team. This position serves as internal and external liaison for the CCO and his/her departments. Understand multiple-perspectives of claims and corporate business and operational issues and their impact to the Company. Responsible for managing work that ranges from strategic to tactical with corporate claims leaders and teams and members of the enterprise services functions and operating companies. Manages various corporate claims projects as directed by the CCO. Works in partnership across enterprise services and operating companies to develop strategies, plans, and budgets for corporate claims functions. RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS: * Directly manage division research projects, which include planning, budgeting, reporting, problem solving, risk and issues management, communications, vendor management, and implementation. * Represent Corporate Claims organization in enterprise wide forums (I.e. LPG). * Lead development of annual departmental plans and budget, monitor results, identify variances and make recommendations. * As assigned, leads and is accountable for cross-departmental and/or cross-operating company initiatives involving multiple functions and complexity. * Develops and maintains an approach to ensure Corporate Claims is effectively connecting and collaborating with operating companies and enterprise services departments. * Responsibilities include enterprise communications, resource planning, problem solving, risk and issue management, reporting, and vendor management for Corporate Claims. * Advises on the utilization of best practices, as well as resource allocation, project prioritization, plan development and analysis, risk, scope and budget management. * Works directly with executive sponsors, enterprise leaders, and project teams to ensure successful implementations of initiatives or work activities. * Actively contributes to the management of Corporate Claims and solves complex resource management issues as necessary. * Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems. * Serves as a member of various projects advisory groups providing project guidance. * Works with minimal supervision. * Manage multiple priorities and deadlines. * Maintains confidentiality. EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in insurance, business, information systems, or related field. Combinations of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Project Management Professional (PMP) designation desired. EXPERIENCE: Minimum ten years of progressive insurance experience required, including working knowledge in a claims environment with demonstrated technical knowledge that provides the necessary skills, knowledge and abilities. Two years in a management position or lead role. Proven capabilities in planning, communications, strategy, and budgets required. SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES (SKA) REQUIRED: * Extensive knowledge of project management principles and practices, including planning and coordination, with the ability to complete large projects involving multiple resources. * Extensive knowledge of insurance and claims environment. * Excellent oral and written communications, as well as presentation skills. * Ability to work across all levels of employees and transition quickly from group-to-group. Leaves a positive impression of the department by demonstrating collaborative working behaviors and leadership traits. * Demonstrated ability to work independently in the planning, execution and closing of projects. * Ability to appropriately manage resources, budgets, issues, and risks for the successful completion of projects. * Extensive knowledge and understanding of computer systems, software and Internet fundamentals. * Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to successfully function in a team environment. * Ability to understand business needs and conceptualize and implement information systems that support those business strategies. * Ability to effectively exchange information clearly and concisely, and present ideas, reports facts and other information, and respond to questions as appropriate. * Ability to establish rapport and maintain customer satisfaction without compromising priorities. * Ability to interact with others to build consensus and get decisions implemented. * Ability to establish workflows, manages multiple projects, and meet necessary deadlines. * Ability to maintain confidentiality. * Ability to perform other assignments at locations outside the office. WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in an office setting with no unusual hazards. Travel is required. Approximately 20-30%. PAY RANGE: "Actual compensation decision relies on the consideration of internal equity, candidate's skills and professional experience, geographic location, market and other potential factors. It is not standard practice for an offer to be at or near the top of the range, and therefore a reasonable estimate for this role is between $104,400 and $174,900."
