Summary
The College of Business at Michigan Technological University invites applications for an instructional-track Assistant Teaching Professor position in Entrepreneurship, beginning Fall 2025/Spring 2026. Primary consideration will be for applicants at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor, although applicants with the experience and accomplishments commensurate with a higher rank may be considered for an appointment at the rank of Associate Teaching Professor. We are looking for a candidate with primary expertise in entrepreneurship and an ability to teach in the following areas: management, product innovation and commercialization. The Assistant Teaching Professor is expected to have a major service role. The candidate will direct the development and implementation of Innovation and entrepreneurship resources and programming across campus (e.g., Husky Innovate) in collaboration with other campus units and other stakeholders. Within the College of Business (COB) this position will support online teaching initiatives, the Essential Education minor in Entrepreneurship, and entrepreneurial affiliation with the Enterprise Program.

Responsibilities and Essential Duties
Contribute effectively to undergraduate and graduate teaching through a student-centric, experiential approach in both the on-campus and online modalities.
Serve as the Director of Husky Innovate in leading collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure development, implementation and delivery of experiential extracurricular learning opportunities for students such as idea pitch and business competitions, workshops, networking events, on and off campus.
Constructively engage in service activities at the departmental, college, university, and professional levels.
Required Education, Certifications, Licensures
A master's degree in management or a closely related discipline from an AACSB accredited institution.
Required Experience
Demonstrated teaching/training OR practical experience within or related to any of the following areas: managing a startup business, new business development, new product launch, product management, strategic planning related to commercialization, capital formation, small business consulting, or related experience.
Desirable Education and/or Experience
A PhD in management/entrepreneurship from an AACSB accredited institution.
Teaching experience in an institution of higher education.
Industry experience related to areas of expertise.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities
Commitment to teaching undergraduate and graduate students.
Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills.
Desirable Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities
Demonstrated ability to design and deliver programs, events, and experiences, on-campus and off campus, directed toward student entrepreneurial success and education.
Demonstrated scholarly research.
Experience in developing and implementing activities and programs that will advance the ability to direct Husky Innovate and developing the entrepreneurial ecosystem and associated developmental experiences for members of the Michigan Tech community.
Demonstrated ability to work with multiple stakeholders in a collaborative, inclusive manner.
Work Environment and/or Physical Demands
The work environment is that of a typical office and/or classroom setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
