The Watersmeet Township School District is currently seeking interested
candidates to teach Computer classes for K-8 & Online classes for
High School Students starting with the 2025-2026 school year.
Date Needed: August 19, 2025 Application Deadline: Until Filled (ASAP)
Requirements:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in the Area of Certification
- Have or be able to obtain Michigan Certification, passing all applicable state exams
- Have or be able to obtain “Effective” status as set forth by State guidelines
This instructor is requested to use a variety of teaching strategies and learning tools to assist learners with computer concepts. Must have excellent classroom management skills and be able to command the attention of their students while explaining lessons. For online courses, the teacher would give guidance as the mentor teacher and complete daily mentor logs for each student. They meet with parents from a diverse student population and should be culturally sensitive in their communication and teaching methods.
Additional qualities sought:
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, Google Docs, and other computer programs
- Knowledge and responsibility to keep certification current and valid (by State guidelines)
- Participate in ongoing Professional Development and training
- Ability to pass a background check
- Be open-minded to serve on committees (i.e., school improvement, student assistance team)
- Communicate regularly with parents through notes, emails, phone calls, and/or conferences
Salary: Salary and benefits information will be available within the interview process, which follows the Master Agreement between the Watersmeet Township Board of Education and the Watersmeet Education Association (WEA).
