General Motors seeks a(n) Design Engineer - Advanced Cell Performance in Warren, MI.
Duties: Designs, develops, and synthesizes advanced battery cell technology for GM’s Electric Vehicle portfolio. Manages projects that include component design interfaces, safety and component integration through the Advanced Cell Process of Engineering (POE), Advanced Technology Work (ATW) and Analysist, Development and Validation (ADV). Works on Pre-A and A sample cell development, testing, integration, abuse, innovative design and integration solutions. This engineer will have a strong knowledge and practical application of mechanical, thermal, electrical, and structure, including their optimization. Contributes directly to innovation and leading-edge technology, works with a highly technical team who are partners with emerging companies, organizations, and universities dedicated to Global Electrification and Sustainability. Hybrid Work Policy – 3 Days In-Office, 2 Days Remote – Must be able to report to local office.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field and Five (5) years of experience as a Computer Aided Engineer, Project Engineer, Automotive Engineers, or related role. OR Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field, and three (3) years of experience as a Computer Aided Engineer, Product Engineer, Automotive Engineers, or related role. Three (3) years of experience with: Utilizing CAE/CAD for design engineering; Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA); Simulating and analyzing the crashworthiness of vehicle structures; Designing for FMVSS (Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards); and CAE/FEA tools including DYNAFORM, RADIOSS, MADYMO, LS-DYNA.
