POSITION SUMMARY: To provide support to the Elastomeric Flow Control Expert Center staff in the areas of product development (product design, testing/test development, tooling build, verification/validation) efforts as it relates to degreed program.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Developing detailed design drawings and specifications utilizing computer assisted drawing (CAD) tools.
Assisting in development and prototyping of concept designs.
Design concept testing via use of testing protocols, analyzing results and writing reports.
Assisting in design of test equipment and fixtures.
Assure compliance with all ISO procedures.
Initiate internal work orders with high level of detail to satisfy project deliverables in timely fashion.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Enrolled in Packaging Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering program within partner University. Computer literacy in Microsoft Office software and experience with CAD software. Candidates must also posses the ability to work effectively within deadline environments on multiple ongoing assignments and demonstrate a teamwork approach. Effective communication skills (both orally and in writing) are required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Drafting experience (CREO Parametric), Plastic Injection Molding and / or Liquid Silicone molding. Prior lab testing experience in a new product/component development environment a plus. Ability to work autonomously on projects with appropriate supervision and guidance. Ability to communicate conceptual and technical thoughts thoroughly.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
1. Specification and procuring of raw materials.
2. Manage and maintain engineering drawing records.
3. Provide support related to Project Management, design, and testing procedures.
4. Participate in generating multi-department work requests critical to maintaining project timelines.
5. Work primarily as part of a team, however will be assigned individual projects based upon educational level, aptitude, and needs within the department.
6. Lead multi-departmental meetings to achieve project goals.
7. Intercompany and team participation.
8. Other job duties as assigned by supervisor.
