DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design & Release Engineer for Body Components (Interior/Exterior Trim, S/M)
Position Duties:
Provide engineering support to ensure continued availability of out of warranty service parts. Evaluate Supplier Requests for Engineering Authorization (SREA). Determine if proposed change is acceptable, or work w/ supplier to develop proposal that is acceptable. Complete evaluation in timely manner. If necessary, implement changes via WERS alert/notice. Work with supplier to update drawings/CAD as required by change.
* Provide engineering support for Service Part Warranty reduction initiatives and disposition/classification of Core
* Provide engineering support to launch service part products requested by Marketing
* Provide engineering support to resource parts from distressed suppliers & resolve service part backorders
* Support joint Product Development and FCSD initiatives, such as remanufacturing projects
* Partner with STA to assess and develop suppliers, and insure that suppliers meet Ford's Quality and Engineering requirements.
* Review manufacturing process documentation and assist STA with process validation and control plans, or PPAP/PSW issues.
