This part-time regular role works 32 hours per week year-round Mondays and Wednesdays 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Fridays 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with extended hours as needed by the department or College.
Position Summary
Under general supervision, provide department support in order to serve internal and external stakeholders. Based on individual department assignment, detailed responsibilities may vary. Maintain all components of the learning environment and assist student with navigating next steps.

Physical Demands
The job responsibilities are performed in an office area and presentation venues. Travel by car required. The job has intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as independent mobility between work areas, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward (8 - 45 pounds). Typically requires regular use of one or more physical senses of medium intensity and long duration. Must meet reasonable deadlines, quotas or demands for accuracy, and may be involved in some mildly unpleasant situations.
Minimum Qualifications
• Some post-secondary education AND one (1) year of relevant experience OR two (2) years of relevant experience.At the time of application, attach unofficial transcripts showing successfully completed coursework, if applicable.
• Ability to work with MS Word, Excel and Outlook or similar level applications at an intermediate level.
• Two (2) years' experience in an active, multi-tasked, automated work environment.
Preferred but not Required
• Familiarity with College Board/Accuplacer.
• Experience working in higher education.
Proposed Salary
According to the published support staff salary schedule, Classification Pay Grade 12, 2024-2025 hourly wage range, step one $18.09 to step six $23.92. Internal applicants may refer to Article 22, Section 5C.

Job Duties
Essential Function: Student Assistance
Description:
• Provide personalized support to current, returning, and prospective students by guiding them through college resources, services, and academic processes. Assist them in effectively using tools like the KCC website to access essential information on admissions, registration, advising, and academic support.
• Guide students through the Guided Self-Placement model and refer as appropriate, offering clear instructions and support to ensure accurate placement decisions aligned with their academic goals.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental processes and practices, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of all student populations.
• Collaborate with offices such as Admissions, Academic Advising, Financial Aid, and the Registrar's Office to analyze and resolve student account issues, promoting seamless student experiences.
• Provide technical assistance to students navigating essential software platforms, including testing software but not limited to, screen reader software, Accuplacer, the Bruin Portal, and Starfish, ensuring accessibility and ease of use for diverse learners.
Essential Function: Department/Records Maintenance
Description:
• Collect and compile departmental data providing to CSS Director to support reporting, strategic planning, and process improvement initiatives.
• Process departmental forms efficiently, including external placement test scores, ensuring data accuracy and timely updates in student records.
• Oversee daily office operations, including opening and closing procedures, maintaining a professional, organized, and welcoming environment for students and staff.
• Regularly update the testing center's webpages and phone trees to ensure current and accurate information regarding testing procedures, schedules, and resources.
• Review and collaborate to update any relevant webpages to provide clear, concise, and accurate information for incoming calls, enhancing communication with students, faculty, and external stakeholders.
• Provide appropriate coverage as needed to manage student traffic and check in students to appointments throughout the Center for Student Success department.
Essential Function: Test Administration and Proctoring
Description:
• Administer and proctor a variety of academic and standardized tests, including Accuplacer and faculty-directed exams, ensuring adherence to security protocols and college policies.
• Coordinate and schedule academic and placement testing, including student registration for standardized tests. Ensure accuracy by analyzing daily test schedules, making updates as needed, and verifying test details and procedures with instructors.
• Maintain the integrity and security of all testing materials and records, following established procedures for the storage, handling, and return of test materials to faculty or test originators.
• Collect and compile testing data each semester to support continuous improvement efforts.
• Ensure compliance with proctoring certification requirements, maintaining annual certifications as needed.
• Implement and uphold test preparation procedures, maintaining consistency and reliability across all testing formats.
• Monitor testing lab cameras to ensure tester integrity.
