We have an immediate opening for a BIW / Structures Engineer who is motivated by variety and change, and who actively enjoys new and unplanned experiences. You must show a capacity to quickly assimilate and understand the implications of new developments and be ready to respond appropriately to situations as they evolve. As a BIW / Structures Engineer, you will need to adapt to our customers’ expectations and have the aptitude for understanding their detailed and exact requirements. Expect to work on various programs in automotive, aerospace, military and industrial equipment. The position is located in Allen Park, Michigan.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (BSME is preferred)
Minimum two years of experience as a BIW / Structures Engineer with an automotive OEM or Tier 1 supplier
Experience with the product engineering, development and release of BIW / structures from start to finish, specifically on: traditional BIW, steel stampings, composite body panels, body sealing, and aluminum BIW stampings
Preferred experience to support and/or deliver standard engineering documentation including and not limited to DFMEA and DVP development
Hands-on troubleshooting and problem solving skills
Must be an effective engineer while acting within a cross-functional team.
Must be able to direct, manage and interpret CAE/FEA activities as a BIW / Structures Engineer
Must be able to act as liaison with the program team, CAD Designers, CAE Group, suppliers and assembly plant for all design responsible parts
Must have strong communication and presentation skills
Must be motivated and adaptable
