American Battery Solutions has a full-time opening for a Lead Software Validation Engineer in Lake Orion, Michigan.\n\nJob Summary\n\nThe Lead Software Validation Engineer is responsible for overseeing and managing the validation of embedded and application-level software systems to ensure compliance with functional, performance, and safety requirements. This role involves developing and implementing comprehensive test strategies and leading validation teams in the execution of these plans. The Lead Software Validation Engineer ensures adherence to industry standards, including ASPICE, ISO 26262, and ISO 9001, playing a critical role in delivering high-quality, reliable, and compliant software products.\n\nResponsibilities\n\n * Lead the software validation process across multiple projects and teams, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and adherence to validation standards and procedures.\n * Define and implement test strategies, validation plans, and test cases based on software requirements.\n * Design and oversee the development and implementation of both automated and manual test execution frameworks.\n * Evaluate requirements and design documentation for testability and traceability throughout the validation process.\n * Coordinate validation activities in collaboration with development, systems engineering, and quality assurance teams.\n * Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards (ASPICE, ISO 26262, IEC 61508).\n * Oversee defect tracking, conduct root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions to ensure timely resolution and continuous improvement.\n * Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and validation specialists.\n * Lead continuous improvement initiatives for validation tools and methodologies.\n * Generate and present validation reports, key performance indicators (KPIs), and audit documentation to support compliance and project tracking.\n * Adhere to federal and state regulations.\n * Adhere to all company policies, processes, and procedures.\n * Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.\n * Predictable and reliable attendance.\n\nPosition Qualifications\n\n * Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.\n * Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field preferred. \n * Minimum of five (5) years experience in software validation/testing.\n * Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a lead or senior role.\n * Strong knowledge of software development and validation lifecycle.\n * Proficiency in test automation tools and environments (e.g., Vector CANoe, Jenkins, Python, Robot Framework, Selenium).\n * Experience with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS, Jama, Polarion).\n * Familiarity with industry standards such as ASPICE, ISO 26262, or equivalent.\n * Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.\n * ISTQB or similar software testing certification.\n * Experience with model-based development and testing (e.g., Simulink, TargetLink).\n * Exposure to Continuous Integration (CI)/Continuous Deployment (CD) pipelines and DevOps practices.\n * Experience in safety-critical domains (automotive, aerospace, medical).\n\nKey Competencies\n\n * Decision Making & Analysis: Makes sound decisions based upon a mixture of data-driven analysis, expertise, experience, and judgment; collects relevant information, seeks input from others, and identifies connections and/or root causes of problems.\n * Takes Initiative: Exhibits strong drive for results and success; conveys a sense of urgency and drives issues to closure; persists despite obstacles and opposition.\n * Continual Improvement: Displays a consistent orientation toward producing the highest quality products or services, while keeping a focus on sustainability.
